Bayesian Games

چکیده

A Bayesian, or incomplete information, game is a generalization of a complete-information game. Recall that in a complete-information game, the game is assumed to be common knowledge. In a Bayesian game, in addition to what is common knowledge, players may have private information. This private information is captured by the notion of an epistemic type, which describes a player’s knowledge. The Bayesian-game formalism makes two simplifying assumptions:

Robust Opponent Modeling in Real-Time Strategy Games using Bayesian Networks

Opponent modeling is a key challenge in Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games as the environment is adversarial in these games, and the player cannot predict the future actions of her opponent. Additionally, the environment is partially observable due to the fog of war. In this paper, we propose an opponent model which is robust to the observation noise existing due to the fog of war. In order to cope...

Bayesian Action-Graph Games

Games of incomplete information, or Bayesian games, are an important gametheoretic model and have many applications in economics. We propose Bayesian action-graph games (BAGGs), a novel graphical representation for Bayesian games. BAGGs can represent arbitrary Bayesian games, and furthermore can compactly express Bayesian games exhibiting commonly encountered types of structure including symmet...

Bayesian Games with Intentions

We show that standard Bayesian games cannot represent the full spectrum of belief-dependent preferences. However, by introducing a fundamental distinction between intended and actual strategies, we remove this limitation. We define Bayesian games with intentions, generalizing both Bayesian games and psychological games [5], and prove that Nash equilibria in psychological games correspond to a s...

No-Regret Learning in Bayesian Games

Recent price-of-anarchy analyses of games of complete information suggest that coarse correlated equilibria, which characterize outcomes resulting from no-regret learning dynamics, have near-optimal welfare. This work provides two main technical results that lift this conclusion to games of incomplete information, a.k.a., Bayesian games. First, near-optimal welfare in Bayesian games follows dir...

No-Regret Learning in Repeated Bayesian Games

Ambiguous Bayesian Games

Bayesian games can handle the incomplete information about players’ types. However, in real life, the information could be not only incomplete but also ambiguous for lack of sufficient evidence, i.e., a player cannot have a precise probability about each type of the other players. To address this issue, this paper firstly extends the Bayesian games to ambiguous Bayesian games. Then, we introduc...
